Mary Cain Leaves Nike Oregon ProjectPublished by
Former Prep Phenom Makes Logistical ChangeBy DyeStatPRO staffOn Friday, October 21 Mary Cain posted on her personal blog that due to her decision to remain on the east coast she has decided to leave the Nike Oregon Project. She will continue to represent Nike and be coached by John Henwood while attending Fordham University in The Bronx, New York City. From her blog, I have been back home in New York for over a year and a half now and I am a full time student at Fordham University. I have made the decision to remain on the east coast for the foreseeable future, so I will no longer be competing in the Nike Oregon Project uniform. Although I enjoyed my time on the Oregon Project, we felt it no longer made sense logistically to compete for the team. These days, John Henwood has taken full control of my training. This means that my race in Boston on Sunday will be my first in a regular Nike Elite Uniform. Look for an interview with Mary from the Mayor's Cup in Boston on Sunday, October 23 by Chris Lotsbom.
